West Brom are preparing an end of season bid for Kevin Wimmer.

According to a report in the Daily Mail the Spurs defender could be on his way to The Hawthorns at the end of the season.

Tony Pulis is keen to add to his defensive options with Gareth McAuley in his late thirties and Jonny Evans attracting interest from a number of clubs.

Wimmer is in his second season at Spurs after being signed from Colgne in a £4.5m deal but has failed to challenge for a place in the centre of defence.

Mauricio Pochettino is keen to bring in at least one central defender and won’t stand in the way of Wimmer moving on elsewhere.

Cologne and Stuttgart have made enquiries about taking the 24-year-old back to Germany but financially it is in Wimmer’s interests to stay in England rather than take a backward step by returning to the Bundesliga.
