Michael Keane is in line for a return ticket to Manchester United.

According to a report in The Mirror the Burnley defender is wanted by Jose Mourinho three years after being sold by Louis van Gaal.

Keane has had an outstanding season as Burnley establish themselves in the Premier League with the defender breaking into Gareth Southgate’s international side.

Mourinho has had a worldwide search for centre-back’s since the turn of the year but is now likely to ‘do a Pogba’ and sign up Keane.

United put a 25% sell on clause into the defender’s contract when he moved to Turf Moor in 2014 which means that they’d fork out just over £20m to meet the £30m that Burnley are looking for from elsewhere.

Everton have been interested in Keane since Christmas time but will struggle to match the terms on offer at Old Trafford although they could offer a better chance of first team football.

Mourinho wants to have four top class defenders fighting for two places in his side which might go against Keane as he attempts to nail down a place in the England side in the build up to the World Cup Finals in Russia.
