Liverpool’s hopes of signing Julian Brandt aren’t dead and buried.

According to a report in The Liverpool Echo claims that the Bayer Leverkusen forward has agreed to join Bayern Munich in the summer have been described as fake news by the player’s dad.

Recent reports claimed that a €12.5m transfer deal had been agreed but the players father and agent has been quick to deny that story.

Brandt does have a buy out clause for €12.5m in his contract but that won’t kick in till 2018.

Jurgen Klopp is a long time admirer of the Leverkusen man and has been asked to be kept informed of developments as he attempts to create a younger team at Anfield.

Bringing Brandt in would be a big statement for Klopp to make but he may have to wait until the summer of 2018 before he can complete that move although every effort will be made this summer.
