Liverpool are considering a surprise move for Steve Mandanda.

According to a report in The Mirror the Crystal Palace keeper could be on his way to Anfield in the summer.

Mandanda has been out of favour at Palace since Sam Allardyce but is believed to have impressed Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool are expected to be bringing in a first choice keeper in the summer but that seems an unlikely role for the 32-year-old Frenchman.

Mandanda enjoyed almost a decade as first choice keeper at Marseille before switching to Palace last summer when Alan Pardew was in charge.

Joe Hart is believed to be Liverpool’s first choice keeper but there could be half a dozen clubs chasing the England keeper if he decides to return to the Premier League.

Palace are likely to be looking for a nominal fee for Mandanda who would jump at the chance of joining a club expected to be in the Champions League.
