Carl Jenkinson is a transfer target for Newcastle and Brighton.
According to a report in The Sun the Arsenal defender is on the wanted list of both clubs with Brighton already promoted and Newcastle looking certain to follow them up into the Premier League.
Jenkinson was close to joining Crystal Palace in January but that deal fell through over accusations relating to the terms he was offered compared to others that joined in January.
The defender has had his share of injury problems and hasn’t featured for Arsenal since November with just one Premier League appearance, away to Manchester United, to his name.
With a year left on his contract Arsenal will be looking for a token transfer fee with the two Championship sides anxious to start recruiting as soon as possible.
Both clubs are expected to be heavily involved in the transfer market during the summer with Jenkinson exactly the type of player that they are looking for.
