Everton are close to completing a deal for Cuco Martina.
According to a report in the Daily Star the Southampton defender is expected to complete a Bosman move to Goodison at the end of the season.
Ronald Koeman took Martina with him to St Mary’s in 2015 and tried to sign the right-back last summer when he moved to Everton but Southampton refused to consider a transfer.
The 27-year-old will be out on contract in June and is an obvious replacement for the injured Seamus Coleman.
Koeman is looking to bring in players in all positions as he makes a big push to get Everton in amongst the Champions League challengers.
Southampton look like facing another summer of uncertainty with their entire defence under threat with Chelsea leading the way with interest in Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Bertrand and Cedric Soares.
With Martina out of contract Claude Peul looks lkike starting net season with a much changed defensive unit.
