Chelsea have joined the race for Ivan Perisic.
According to a report in the Metro the champions elect are ready to bid for the £55m rated Inter Milan forward who has a number of mentors.
Manchester United have been strongly linked with Perisic but with the guarantee of Champions League football Chelsea have moved into pole position.
Perisic is in his second season with Inter and has scored an impressive 10 goals from 31 appearances in Serie A.
With his ability to get goals from wide positions Antonio Conte would love to add the Croatian to his squad for next season’s Champions League campaign.
Inter Milan have to make one major sale this summer to comply with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules with Perisic in huge demand.
The 28-year-old has vast experience across Europe from playing with Wolfsburg, Borussia Dortmund and Club Brugge and would be keen to move to a top English club.
