Luke Shaw will quit Manchester United in the summer with Spurs at the front of the queue to sign the Old Trafford outcast.

According to a report in The Sun the former Southampton defender is now United’s fourth choice left-back after being left out of the squad for the EFL Cup Final win over his old club at Wembley on Sunday.

Life at Old Trafford has turned sour for the former golden boy who picked United ahead of Chelsea in 2014 as he shot through the ranks at Southampton.

Spurs currently have the first choice England left-back in Danny Rose but Mauricio Pochettino is always on the look out for young English talent and briefly crossed paths with Shaw at St Mary’s.

The 21-year-old hasn’t started a Premier League match since the end of October with that depressing statistic unlikely to change as Mourinho pushes ahead with his plans to reshape the squad he inherited last summer.
