Liverpool are lining up a £10m bid for Ben Brereton.

According to a report in the Nottingham Post the Nottingham Forest teenager has hugely impressed Liverpool’s scouting network.

Brereton has come into the Forest side since the turn of the year and scored three goals in just six starts as the former European Cup winners attempt to escape relegation to League One.

The 17-year-old was attracting scouts by the dozen to see him in action for the Forest youth side where he was a prolific scorer.

Forest owner Fawaz Al Hasawi announced on twitter that a new deal had been signed for the teenager but there is some doubt as to whether that contract has been sign and registered.

Forest would be reluctant to sell Brereton but with the club’s money problems it would be almost impossible to turn down a £10m profit on a 17-year-old that may be loaned back as part of a contract.
