Middlesbrough are braced for the departure of Gibson regardless of whether they stay up or not with the defenders England call up confirming his advances this term.
Klopp is well aware of his side’s defensive weaknesses with a new goalkeeper almost certain to arrive in the summer.
Adding Gibson into the defensive mix will bring stability to the side as Klopp aims a major push for the title with this season’s bid faltering badly in the new year as goals were shipped in.
