Liverpool are planning to reopen contract talks with Emre Can.
According to a report in the Liverpool Echo the club is keen to get the midfielder onto a new deal with claims that Juventus are waiting in the wings.
Can is out of contract in June 2018 with his representatives looking to double his current contract to around £100,000/week.
Liverpool are unwilling to agree a new deal at that level but Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of the 23-year-old and wants the midfielder to stay on at Anfield as part of his future plans.
Whether the two parties can agree to a compromise remains to be seen with the timescale favouring the player with clubs wary of allowing players to enter the final year of their contract.
Can was a £10m signing from Bayer Leverkusen in 2014 and has started 15 of Liverpool’s 27 Premier League matches with six appearances as a substitute scoring three times.
