Bournemouth have joined Everton and Sunderland in the race for Manchester United keeper Sam Johnstone.

According to a report in Somersetlive Bournemouth are keen on the keeper who is currently impressing on loan at Aston Villa.

The 24-year-old has been on a series of loans during his career, stepping up a level each time, and now looks ready to play at the highest level. With David de Gea committing himself to United it’s clear that Johnstone won’t get a chance at Old Trafford.

Everton are on the look out for a keeper and were considered favourites to sign Johnstone but now face serious competition from other Premier League outfits.

Sunderland look certain to lose Jordan Pickford at the end of the season while Bournemouth were close to signing Asmir Begovic from Chelsea last month.

With his contract running until June 2018 United will be looking to sell the keeper this summer.
