Javier Hernandez has sent a not so subtle come and get me plea to Jose Mourinho.

According to a report in The Sun the former Manchester United striker retweeted a quote from Mourinho about how he wouldn’t have sold a number of players moved on by Louis van Gaal- including the Mexican striker.

Bayer Leverkusen snapped the striker up for £8m in 2015 with most United fans dismayed to see the striker leave.

Although not a prolific scorer in the Bundesliga the 28-year-old has scored 12 goals this season in two different bursts.

With doubt over the future of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney expected to move back to Everton, United will certainly be investing in strikers during the summer with little risk involved in signing Hernandez.

The striker would jump at the chance of an emotional return to Old Trafford but Leverkusen are likely to be looking for £30m for the Mexican.
