According to a report in the Daily Mail the Chelsea boss has been promised full authority in transfer dealings and wants to sign the Real Madrid striker.
Morata has had a disappointing season at Real after returning from a loan deal at Juventus but that won’t put Conte off.
The Chelsea boss wants to bring in a top class striker to reduce his dependency on Diego Costa who has again been talking up different transfer options including a return to Atletico Madrid.
Costa’s attitude to contract matters has been a source of frustration at Stamford Bridge with Conte determined to address the matter by bringing in a quality alternative.
Morata is open to the prospect of moving to Chelsea and could form part of a deal for Eden Hazard if the midfielder indicates that he is interested in a switch to the Spanish capital.
