Arsenal are preparing a move for Arda Turan.
According to a report in The Times the Barcelona midfielder has been identified as a possible replacement for Mesut Ozil.
The announcement that contract talks for Ozil have been put on hold until the summer is virtually an admission that the German internationalist will be moving on in the close season.
Turan has been in and out of the Barcelona side this season and could be available once Barca name their new manager.
Arsenal have been watching the situation for a while and feel that his style of play would fit in well at The Emirates.
After three seasons with Atletico Madrid and two with Barca the Turkish internationalist has got plenty of experience and should adapt quickly to the pace of the game in the Premier League.
As well as Ozil, Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are out of contract in June 2018 with big changes expected at The Emirates regardless of whether Arsene Wnger stays or moves on.
