Mystery over Monk’s contract

|

Garry Monk has revealed that there has been no talks about extending his contract beyond the end of the season.

According to a report in the Yorkshire Evening Post the 37-year-old has still to hear from the club about a new deal with his full focus on taking the club into the promotion play-off’s.

When Monk joined the club last summer it was announced as a 12 month rolling contract but it has since emerged that it was a straight forward 12 month deal with the club having the option to extend for another year.

With Leeds riding high without any big spending Monk’s stock has risen in the game after the disappointment of the way things ended at Swansea.

After taking over at Swansea Monk was tipped as a future England manager and has gone some way to restoring his reputation with his efforts this season.

Having gone through so many managers in recent times Leeds will be anxious to get Monk tied up on a new deal before the end of this season.
