Liverpool are expected to make a summer move for Mahmoud Dahoud of Borussia Monchengladbach.

According to a report in The Mirror the midfielder has still to sign up to a new deal with the German side and has just over a year remaining on his current contract.

Jurgen Klopp has extensive contacts across German football with midfielder Dahoud being highlighted as someone ready to do a job for Liverpool.

Gladbach refused to sell Dahoud last summer after losing Granit Xhaka to Arsenal but now have a massive decision to make this summer.

With the player well aware of Liverpool’s interest Gladbach will need to match the terms on offer at Anfield or cash in on the player with 12 months left on his contract.

Klopp has accepted that Liverpool can’t compete for the biggest names in the game and is keen to bring in emerging talent like the 21-year-old Dahoud and develop them to the highest level.
