Mourinho set to bid for Oxlade-Chamberlain

Manchester United are considering an end of season bid for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

According to a report in The Mirror, Jose Mourinho is a big fan of the midfielder who can operate on the wing or through the centre.

Over the last 18 months Oxlade-Chamberlain’s career has stalled with the player frustrated by the lack of development- and medals- he has picked up with his England place under threat.

With his contract up in 18 months it’s getting close to decision time for the player and the club to come up with a new deal although it seems that most attention is on Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.

Manchester City were reported to be interested in the Oz before Christmas but if there is no contract move from Arsenal the midfielder seems certain to move on in the summer.

Bidding would be expected around the £30m mark but that represents great value in the current market for a 30-year-old internationalist.
