Manuel Neuer has dismissed rumours that he could be on his way to Manchester City.
According to a report on Sky Sports the Bayern Munich keeper ruled out a move to the Etihad to team up again with Pep Guardiola.
City are desperately looking for a new keeper with Claudio Bravo proving to be Guardiola’s weak point.
Returning to Bayern to sign Neuer would seem to make sense but after five full seasons as first choice keeper at Bayern he has no intention of quitting the German giants.
One of Guardiola’s first moves at City was to send Joe Hart out on loan but despite City’s goalkeeping problems there will be no return to the Etihad for the England keeper.
Neuer would have been Guardiola’s first chice keeper but with that door closed he will now have to look elsewhere as he seeks a keeper of the stature of David de Gea or Thibsut Courtois to build his defence around.
