Leeds target Kent

Leeds are preparing a summer bid for Liverpool kid Ryan Kent.

According to a report in The Sun, Garry Monk has been impressed by the midfielder’s form on loan at Barnsley and is keen to take him to Elland Road.

Monk would be prepared to pay upto £2m for Kent but is more likely to be successful with a loan move.

Kent had a stint on loan at Coventry last season with Monk convinced that the 20-year-old can have an impact at Leeds whether they are in the Championship or Premier League next season.

With Leeds chasing promotion this season Monk is expecting significant backing in the summer with this season’s promotion push largely unplanned.

Although Leeds can’t compete with the big spenders in the Championship the size of the club makes them a bigger attraction than most of the teams in the division.

Kent has made 32 appearances this season for Barnsley- scoring two goals.
