Fernando Llorente has spoken out about the frustrations of his proposed January transfer to Chelsea.

In an interview with the Daily Mail the striker spoke about the difficulties of a transfer during the transfer window as a new manager, Paul Clement tried to assess his squad and line up possible replacements.

Antonio Conte was keen to be reunited with the former Juventus striker and wanted to bring the Spaniard to Stamford Bridge as back up to Diego Costa.

It seemed like a good deal for all concerned with Clement getting money to bring in his own striker.

The complexities of the January transfer window and Swansea’s battle to avoid relegation meant that the deal fell through with Chelsea failing to bring in a new striker.

Llorente hasn’t let the disappointment effect his game and has played a big part in Swansea’s battle to beat the drop including a starring role in their dramatic win over Liverpool at Anfield.
