Kjaer speaks out about Chelsea interest

|

Simon Kjaer has admitted that he was flattered by January speculation linking him with a move to Chelsea.

According to a report in the Daily Mail the Fenerbahce defender would be interested in a move to Stamford Bridge but felt that there was no substance to the speculation.

Kjaer is in his second season with the Turkish side and is widely experienced from spells across Europe with Lille, Wolfsburg, Roma and Palermo after leaving Denmark.

Antonio Conte is looking to reshape his defence and is looking for players comfortable in a three man back line.

Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk is one of Conte’s top targets but Kjaer’s name came to prominence during Fenerbahce’s Europa League campaign which included a 2-1 home win over Manchester United in November.

Those performances earned him a place in the official UEFA Europa League select side and is almost certain to be the subject of summer transfer speculation.
