Chinese side have limitless budget for Costa

|

Chelsea have been warned that Tianjin Quanjia have a limitless budget to sign Diego Costa.

According to a report in The Sun the Chinese Super League side will return again in the summer to sign the striker.

Costa was dropped from the Chelsea side in January after Tianjin had an offer rejected with Antonio Conte determined to prevent anything from interrupting his title plans. It’s believed that the January offer was for around £90m

Recently there was talk of Costa agreeing to a new Chelsea contract but with an open chequebook waiting in the far east a new Stamford Bridge deal seems unlikely.

At a media conference on Monday, Shu Yuhui, the owner of Tianjin said: “Theoretically speaking, there is no limit on transfer budget in the summer. We can target whoever we want.”

With a massive doubt over the future of Costa Chelsea have been stepping up their efforts to bring in a replacement striker during the summer.

Romelu Lukaku and Moussa Dembele are among their targets but Everton and Celtic are determined to hold on to their leading scorers.
