West Brom will test Leeds promotion intentions with a £3m bid for Charlie Taylor.

According to a report in The Sun Baggies boss Tony Pullis is looking to bring in the left back and also snap up Shane Long from Southampton.

Taylor is out of contract at the end of the season and had a transfer request turned down in the summer.

Gary Monk doesn’t want to lose any players while he is fighting for promotion but must decide whether to cash in on Taylor and bring in replacements or allow the 23-year-old to run down his contract.

Leeds are currently sitting in fifth place, five points ahead of seventh placed Derby County in the battle for a play off place.

Monk’s work at Elland Road has put him back in the spotlight with the Yorkshire club determined to back him in the transfer market as they chase a return to the big time.

Having gone public with his desire to hold on to Taylor it will be difficult for Monk to go back on his word but if the bid is right and a replacement has been identified the defender could be bound for the The Hawthorns.
