Aston Villa have tabled a £3m bid for Henri Lansbury.

According to a report in the Nottingham Post the midfielder is becoming one of the most in-demand players in The Championship.

Derby County have had a £2.5m bid for the midfielder turned down with Forest determined not to allow the midfielder a direct route to their nearest rival.

Forest are still hopeful of getting Lansbury to stay on at the City Ground but as the clock ticks down on the final six months of his contract it’s the player that will dictate what happens with the possibility of becoming a free agent at the end of the season.

Steve Bruce has been promised money to spend as he attempts to emulate last season’s achievement of winning promotion with Hull City.

Lansbury is in his fifth season with Forest with one of his former clubs, Watford, also keeping tabs on the situation and able to offer a direct route to the Premier League.
