Patrice Evra looks to be on his way to West Ham with Manchester United blanking the social media campaign to ‘bring him home’.

According to a report in The Sun talks are underway to take the out of contract Juventus defender to the London Stadium.

Rio Ferdinand sparked speculation that Evra could be heading for Old Trafford but United haven’t given that idea any encouragement.

After starting just three matches this season for Juve the Serie A champions will allow the Frenchman to leave on a free transfer if he moves to a club outside of France.

West Ham are recruiting in all areas with interest also shown in Glen Johnson at right-back.

Signing Evra until the end of the season would virtually be risk free allowing both parties to decide in the summer whether to extend the deal into a longer term arrangement with the defender looking to end his career back in England.
