Manchester United enter Rodriguez race

|

Manchester United won’t allow Chelsea a free run at James Rodriguez.

According to a report in The Sun United are now in the race to sign the out of favour Real Madrid man who shares the same agent, Jorge Mendes, as Jose Mourinho.

Rodriguez won’t be allowed to leave Real this month but will be allowed to move on in the summer for £50m after three seasons at the Bernabeu.

Mourinho signed the 25-year-old after the World Cup in 2014 and has no doubt that the former Monaco and Porto striker can be a big hit in England.

With Mendes heavily involved there is every likelihood that Rodriguez will be reunited with Mourinho at Old Trafford next season.

Chelsea made the first moves last month when it was first suggested that Real were willing to let the striker go but if it comes down to a straight choice with Manchester United it is almost certain that the Columbian will end up at Old Trafford.
