Chelsea are reported to have made a bid for Hakan Calhanoglu.
According to a report in Metro Chelsea have made a bid for the highly rated Bayer Leverkusen midfielder.
The Turkish internationalist has also been linked with Manchester United with Antonio Conte determined to bring in fresh talent to boost his side’s title bid.
Even before the sale of Oscar Chelsea were intending to add to their squad with Conte looking for fresh options in midfield.
Calhanoglu is a free kick specialist, scoring four goals in 13 Bundesliga matches this season as well as impressing in the Champions League.
The 22-year-old is in his third season at Leverkusen but with his side unlikely to be involved in European football next season would jump at the chance to move to Chelsea.
Conte has a number of midfield options under review but it seems that the circumstances surrounding Calhanoglu suggest that a deal could be completed.
