Steve Bruce is considering a shock move for former Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph.
According to a report in the Daily Telegraph Bruce is lining up a loan move to bring the 27-year-old back to Villa Park just 18 months after his protracted move to Manchester City.
Delph was branded a snake by Villa fans after declaring his loyalty to Villa only to perform a u-turn to quit for the riches of the Etihad.
The former England internationalist hasn’t kicked a ball since the end of August and has been informed that he has no future under Pep Guardiola.
Newcastle have been linked with a move for Delph but a return to Villa would test the patience of most Villa fans.
Former Birmingham City boss Bruce was accepted as a specialist for getting out of the Championship but attempting to bring back Delph could push the patience of many fans beyond breaking point.
