John Terry has been told that he won’t be given another contract by Chelsea.

According to a report in The Times the club has decided that it’s time for Terry to move on with a 20 year one club due to end in May.

Terry was in a similar situation last year but was in the team and it was decided by Antonio Conte to retain his services as the new regime came in.

This season the defender, who recently turned 36, has only made five Premier League appearances with the Conte era well underway.

The Italian’s new look defence has no place for Terry although the club won’t allow the iconic figure to leave during the January transfer window.

Despite the absence of European football Terry will be retained as cover as the club push on with their title challenge.

That gives Terry the chance to bow out of Stamford Bridge as a title winner before deciding between offers from the USA, China and the far east to continue his career.
