John Obi Mikel could be diverted to the UAE by Al Ain rather than join the exodus to China.

According to a report in The Daily Star the midfielder has been given £200,000/week offers from Al Ain and Chinese side Shanghai SIPG.

Mikel is out of contract at the end of the season and has been informed that there will be no new contract on offer from Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho is believed to have made an enquiry about taking the 29-year-old to Manchester United but it’s unlikely that Chelsea would sanction that deal.

Mikel is in his tenth season with Chelsea but despite being a regular last season under Guus Hiddink he hasn’t got near a place under new boss Antonio Conte.

There has been claims that there are other offers from Italy on the table but they don’t come close to the terms on offer from China or the UAE.
