Chelsea are ready to put in a bid for Swansea striker Fernando Llorente.

According to a report in The Sun the 31-year-old could be on the move to Stamford Bridge to be used as cover for Diego Costa.

Antonio Conte knows Llorente well from their time together at Juventus and is keen to bring in a reliable back-up striker to ease the burden on Costa.

Llorente has scored six times in 11 Premier League starts and four substitute appearances since moving to Swansea from Seville in the summer.

Those stats appeal to Conte who would love to be reunited with the 31-year-old striker.

Swansea would be loathe to lose their leading scorer but might find it hard to stand in the players way if an offer comes in from Chelsea.

As an incentive to push the deal through Chelsea would be able to offer two loan players to the Welsh club but that couldn’t be completed until a new manager is installed.
