Chelsea impressed by Monaco pair

|

Chelsea have been linked with Monaco duo Tiemoue Bakayoko and Djibril Sidibe.

According to a report in The Guardian, Antonio Conte watched both players in the recent Champions League match against Spurs and is interested in taking them both to Stamford Bridge.

Monaco would be very reluctant to sell either midfielder before facing Manchester City in the Champions League but even the most cash rich club in France now struggle to compete with the salaries on offer in England.

Chelsea were always expected to be heavily involved in the January transfer market with the transfer of Oscar for £60m providing even more funds.

With Antonio Conte’s side leading from the front Roman Abramovich is determined to provide the funds needed to win the title rather than simply qualify for the Champions League.

Bakayoko and Sidibe are near the top of Conte’s wanted list but the Chelsea boss may have to wait till the summer to get his targets.
