Newcastle will have to come up with a £15m bid if they are to sign Scott Hogan from Brentford.
According to a report in The Chronicle Brentford are demanding that figure for the in form striker.
Rafa Benitez is looking at a number of striking options with Hogan ticking a number of boxes and showing up well on scouting reports..
As well as his goal threat the former Rochdale man can play on either flank which is another area that Benitez is looking to strengthen.
With 18 months left on his contract Brentford can call the shots just now but if they fail to sell the striker in January his value will go down as he approaches the last 12 months of his contract.
Hogan is keen to test himself at the highest level possible and would jump at the chance of joining Newcastle if the two clubs can agree on a transfer fee.
