Arsenal will switch their attention to Marco Reus of Borussia Dortmund if Mesut Ozil continues to stall on a new contract offer.

According to a report in The Metro Arsene Wenger’s side are looking at the possibility of replacing one German with another

Reus is in his fifth season with Dortmund but could be tempted to London if he gets the type of massive offer that Ozil seems reluctant to sign upto.

With 18 months left on his current deal Ozil’s representatives are pushing for a new deal way in excess of the £140,000/week deal that the former Real Madrid midfielder currently collects.

Reus has an extra 12 months on his Dortmund deal and has been long admired by Wenger and key members of his staff.

Ozil’s recent performances against Everton and Manchester City have attracted criticism and raised questions about whether he offers value on improved terms.

If Dortmund can be persuaded to discuss a deal for Reus it could have a knock on effect on the negotiations with Ozil.
