He’s made six Premier League appearances for West Ham United so far but come the January transfer window, Leeds United will re-attempt to sign Ashley Fletcher, report ClubCall.

The Whites had tried to sign the 21-year-old striker following his Manchester United release in the summer but losing out to the Hammers who picked him up on a four-year deal, Garry Monk’s side are hoping it’s second-time-lucky in January.

The Elland Road side will reportedly try to secure Fletcher on a loan deal in the New Year with Fletcher having only managed a single start so far against Manchester City back in August.

With West Ham United now able to call upon Michail Antonio, Simone Zaza and Jonathan Calleri up top, Fletcher is down the striking pecking order once again with Leeds United able to offer him increased game time.

Given the fact Fletcher knows Leeds United have previously been interested in signing him, perhaps this may sway the young striker into signing for the West Yorkshire club in January if his first team prospects haven’t improved.
