West Ham United in 3-way fight to land Champions League ace

|

Enjoying Champions League football with FC Copenhagen this season, West Ham United will battle Liverpool and AC Milan for Ludwig Augustinsson’s signature in January, report CalcioMercato.

The Italian source claims the Swedish international was targeted by both the Hammers and Reds in the summer but with FC Copenhagen holding onto the 22-year-old, they are braced for more bids in the New Year.

A left back by trade, Slaven Bilic’s side have strangely been linked with a couple of left back reinforcements this winter including Schalke’s Sead Kolasinac.

Already boasting both England international Aaron Cresswell as well as Arthur Masuaku at left back, Augustinsson would face heavy competition in the position if signed.

With Augustinsson also capable of playing as a wing back, we’ve seen Bilic utilise a 3-4-3 this season with Cresswell and Edimilson Fernandes operating on the flanks.

CalcioMercato’s report claims Augustinsson is ready to depart Parken Stadium in January although AC Milan are described as favourites for his signature at present.
