He spent both the 2014/15 and 2015/16 campaigns on loan at West Ham United and now, the Hammers will reportedly monitor Arsenal’s Carl Jenkinson yet again this January, report the Daily Star.

With Sam Byram, Alvaro Arbeloa and Michail Antonio all having not made the right back position their own this term, Slaven Bilic is reportedly keen on a reunion with Jenkinson.

Having only just made his injury comeback for the Gunners, Jenkinson has started games against Reading and Ludogorets recently but this hasn’t put off the Hammers who had to cut short his loan spell last term.

After making 32 Premier League appearances in his first spell at Upton Park, Jenkinson was only able to make 20 last season before injury cut short his campaign.

The Daily Star’s report featured a quote from a Hammers source who claimed: “Carl’s injury was a real shame. He was doing well at the club and we liked him. Would we have tried to sign him? Probably.”

Achieving a Champions League start last night and an Arsenal fan to boot, Jenkinson may be holding out on seeing whether Hector Bellerin remains at Emirates Stadium long-term amidst interest from Barcelona and Manchester City.
