Ryan Bertrand

Ryan Bertrand had to drop down to Southampton after failing to secure a starting berth with Chelsea – but since his arrival on the South Coast he has proven himself good enough to play for any of England’s best teams.

He has been included in the PFA Team of the Season in previous seasons, and he seems to be going from strength to strength as of late.

He offers a perfect balance of defence and attack – and he has taken over the reigns from Luke Shaw at Southampton with ease.

Bertrand’s signing came out of the blue somewhat, with Chelsea in need of a left-back upon the time of his sale; but Chelsea’s loss was Southampton’s gain.

Chelsea would definitely love to have him back now, though.
