The opening of the transfer window is still a month away but the guessing game is already well underway with Mesut Ozil apparently in demand at Real Madrid and Manchester City.

A report in The Express notes the interest from the Etihad but quotes a move to join Pep Guardiola as a 16/1 shot from Ladbrokes with a Real Madrid return a skinny 7/4. Bayern Munich, PSG, Juventus and Barcelona are all priced at between 5/2 and 10/1

Ozil still has 18 months to run on his Arsenal deal but unless a contract can be agreed before the end of this season he looks certain to be on his way in the summer rather than stay around for the final year of his contract.

The German international is believed to be looking for a £200,000/week deal to extend his stay at The Emirates- with Arsenal in no rush to meet those demands.

Arsenal paid Real Madrid £43m for Ozil in 2013 making a firm declaration that they had joined the big spenders.

With the new TV deal sending wage inflation through the roof the Gunners will have to think big again to sign up the German- and offer the same again for Alexis Sanchez who is also out of contract in the summer of 2017.
