First three points in the bag!

After their hard fought 1-1 draw against Tottenham on the opening day, it was only Ronald Koeman’s second game in charge that Everton claimed their first three points of the season.

With Toffees fans earmarking an away game against West Bromwich Albion as a good opportunity to claim maximum points, this is what played out at The Hawthorns back in August.

After Gareth McAuley put Everton on the back foot within the opening 10 minutes, the Toffees rallied well and scored at that perfect time to turnaround Ronald Koeman’s half-time teamtalk with Kevin Mirallas equalising in first-half stoppage time.

From there, it was a case of cometh the hour, cometh the man with Gareth Barry giving Everton the advantage on 60 minutes with Ronald Koeman’s men managing to see out this 1-2 scoreline as the Baggies lost their discipline in the second-half.
