John Terry could be offered one more lucrative pay day by Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua.

According to a report in The Sun the former England skipper could be offered a £100,000/week deal by Gus Poyet who has just taken over as manager of Shenhua.

While other Chinese cities leave a lot to be desired Shanghai has an enviable reputation as a bustling tourist destination and home to 17 million people.

Terry was given a one year contract during the summer but is unlikely to be offered another deal by Chelsea with Antonio Conte stamping his personality on the side.

The 35-year-old is keen to play on for as long as possible but knows that those options are limited at Stamford Bridge.

Poyet has just taken over as manager at Shenhua after a spell in La Liga with Real Betis.

Having played briefly with Terry towards the end of his Chelsea career the Uruguayan would love to bring the leadership qualities and bravery to his new club.
