Leeds United won’t have a clear run at landing West Ham United striker Ashley Fletcher with Ipswich Town providing competition for his signature, report Football Insider.

With the Hammers set to welcome Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho back into the fold later this month, their returns will only push Fletcher down the striking pecking order at London Stadium.

Having taken advantage of their absences to make six appearances across all competitions so far this term, the Whites are hoping that the 21-year-old will be keen on completing a loan switch to Elland Road in January.

Struggling for goals so far this term, Ipswich Town’s top goalscorer is Grant Ward on only four strikes and you can see why the Tractor Boys are targeting somebody such as Fletcher.

A pivotal figure in securing Barnsley’s return to the Championship last term, having scored a goal in the Tykes 3-1 playoff final victory over Millwall back in May, Fletcher is clearly a man in demand right now.
