Having only made a single appearance for Leeds United’s first team so far this season, young Whites left back Tyler Denton is fully focused on getting ahead of Charlie Taylor, report Inside Futbol.

Starting and scoring in Leeds United’s 0-1 August win over Luton Town in the EFL Cup, Denton hasn’t figured for Garry Monk since but is ready to try his utmost for more game time.

Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Denton claimed: “I have always said that Charlie is a great lad and a great player.

“But at the end of the day my job is to push Charlie as far as possible, to eventually hopefully get the place.”

The Telegraph claimed in October that West Bromwich Albion will make a renewed £4 million bid to land Taylor in the January transfer window and it isn’t beyond the realms of possibility that Denton could receive his big chance in the second half of the campaign.

The Whites rejected a transfer request from Taylor back in August but with the 23-year-old’s contract up at the end of the season, it remains feasible that Leeds United could cash in on their academy product in January.
