Leeds United plotting second-time-lucky swoop in January

|

Having failed in a bid to bring him to Elland Road in the summer, Leeds United are plotting a second-time-lucky swoop to sign Zulte Waregem’s Bryan Verboom in January, report Sport Witness.

According to Dutch outlet Voetbalrss, Garry Monk’s side will re-attempt to sign Verboom in the New Year with the Belgian side failing to sanction a summer deal due to insufficient time in sourcing a replacement.

In another boost to the Whites’ chances of signing Verboom, the 24-year-old has only started two of fourteen Zulte Waregem league fixtures this term with Brian Hamalainen ahead of him in the defensive pecking order.

A left back by trade, news of Leeds United reignited interest in Verboom will only raise more questions over the long-term future of Charlie Taylor.

The 23-year-old has started every single one of Leeds United’s Championship fixtures so far this term but West Bromwich Albion have yet again been linked with a £4 million swoop for the Whites defender recently.
