Scoring in Leeds United’s 2-3 victory over Norwich City on Saturday, Pontus Jansson has reiterated his desire to sign for the Whites permanently despite Watford’s interest, report TeamTalk.com.
Quickly becoming a fan favourite at Elland Road this term, the 25-year-old Swedish international is currently on a season-long loan in West Yorkshire but the player wants a permanent switch from Torino.
Speaking about his plans going forward, Jansson claimed: “Seriously, that’s the only thing that I want now. I want to be here and to make a permanent deal with Leeds.
Despite playing a division higher in the Premier League, it would appear that Walter Mazzarri’s Watford are set for disappointment in pursuit of Jansson who really has fell in love with Leeds United and their fanbase.
Jansson continued: “If other clubs are coming to watch me then of course I am happy for that but my focus is on Leeds.”
Making 11 Championship starts under Garry Monk so far this season, former Malmo man Jansson has started to strike up a positive centre back partnership with fellow summer arrival Kyle Bartley.
