He turned down both Everton and Chelsea in the summer and now, the agent of Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly has claimed a £60 million bid by the Toffees was “absurd”, report the Liverpool Echo.

Koulibaly’s agent Bruno Satin reiterated the fact that the 25-year-old was simply non-transferable this summer with Napoli always going to hold onto the Senegal international amidst some huge offers.

Speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss, Satin claimed: “Everton? We knew of interest from Everton.

“But if there is something to say, ask De Laurentiis. These figures of 50, 60, 70 million are absurd, in part because the president said he is non-transferable.”

The story also carried quotes from Toffees majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri who claimed Napoli “wanted £60m” amidst Everton making a bid for the defender this summer.

But the fact the Italian giants didn’t let Koulibaly go for that fee suggests he was an integral member of their squad who wasn’t going in any circumstance.

Ronald Koeman’s £25 million signature of Yannick Bolasie raise eyebrows in the summer so if Everton did indeed pull off a multi-million deal for Koulibaly, we can only imagine the furore that would’ve caused!
