Still yet to make his first team debut for Everton since originally signing in 2014, David Henen could be set to quit Goodison Park in January with Lille interested in landing him, report the Daily Star.

Arriving from Olympiakos in 2014, the 20-year-old Belgian initially signed for the Toffees on loan but the move was made permanent in July 2015.

Sent on loan to League One side Fleetwood Town last season, HenenĀ isn’t breachingĀ Ronald Koeman’s first team plans anytime soon with Ligue 1 side Lille feeling buoyant that they can prise him away in the New Year.

According to the Daily Star’s report, French sources are already claiming that Henen has rejected a new five-year deal at Goodison Park.

Entering a crucial stage of his development, earning regular first team football is paramount for Henen and with the Belgian having suffered injury setbacks for David Unsworth’s Under-21 side, a new lease of life could be exactly what the forward needs.
