With shoots of optimism at Elland Road this term with Leeds United currently sixth in the Championship, ex-Whites boss Neil Redfearn has claimed the club need to sign up four players, report the Yorkshire Evening Post.

According to Redfearn, if Leeds United conclude permanent deals for Pontus Jansson, Pablo Hernandez, Hadi Sacko and Kyle Bartley, the Whites’ chances of playoff contention come the end of the season are high.

Redfearn claimed: “I don’t know the agreements that Leeds have got with the clubs – whether they have got first choice – but that will be an important process because Garry (Monk) has really built the team as such.

“And I think what they have got to try and do is to try and nail that side down.”

Having only conceded 17 goals so far this season, the performances of centre back duo Bartley and Jansson have been particularly impressive with the latter White scoring in the 2-3 win at Norwich City last time out.

With Watford rumoured to be interested in signing Jansson this winter, the Swedish international has already spoken about his affection for Leeds United although Torino may be interested in who bids the most.
