Having tried and failed to sign him during his spell in charge of Hull City, Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce will re-attempt to land Brighton & Hove Albion’s Beram Kayal in January, report The Sun.

The Israel international’s contract is up at the AMEX Stadium at the end of the season and with no extension signed as yet, Villans boss Bruce is looking to take advantage of the situation.

While Aston Villa completed big money deals to land both Ross McCormack and Jonathan Kodjia in the summer, Bruce still reportedly has enough in the bank to sign former Celtic ace Kayal.

Currently out injured for Chris Hughton’s Seagulls, Kayal had made eight Championship starts so far this season but as reported back on October 13th, the Israeli faces two months out on the sidelines.

Despite this, Aston Villa remain keen on the combative star as Steve Bruce looks to put his own stamp on the Villa team he inherited from Roberto Di Matteo.
